Every SlashBack product runs on Claris FileMaker, the database platform developed by Claris, an Apple subsidiary, in production worldwide for over three decades. What we build on it is a system in which every person is named, every connection is encrypted, every change is logged, and nobody holds more than their own slice.
A platform that names every person, encrypts every byte, logs every change and limits every site or ship to its own data does not need a separate security module — it is one.
Every connection — office client, browser, iPad, vessel agent — runs over SSL/TLS with your own certificate on the server. No plain-text traffic, anywhere.
The database file itself is encrypted with AES-256, so a copied file is an unreadable file. Backups inherit the encryption.
Full and progressive backups on the server, verified, retained by policy and copied off-site. Restoring a file is a rehearsed procedure, not an emergency.
No shared logins. Sign in with your Microsoft or Google identity so your own password and multi-factor policy apply; privilege sets decide what an account may open, read and change.
Department, site, vessel and role decide what a person sees and what they may sign — the same rules on every screen, granted once, reviewed in one place.
Who changed what, and when, on the tables you choose to audit — per record and per person. Deletions are counted, not hidden.
Every backup is copied automatically to off-site object storage in the EU with object lock — write once, read many. For its retention period it cannot be changed or deleted by anyone, an administrator or a ransomware included. Restoring from it is a rehearsed procedure, not an emergency.
One account per site or ship, a PIN per person, and a signature row with name, role and time on every form, drill and acknowledgement. Nothing is signed by "the office".
Documents in object storage are reached only through short-lived links the server issues, to the person entitled to the record. Nothing in a browser holds a key to the archive.
Document reading and questions to the file run through the server; the model key never leaves it, and the reader writes nothing until a person confirms.
A cyber security register documents your systems, patches, backups and restore tests — and this platform is one of the systems on it, with its own line.
Every list exports to Excel; the database is yours, on your server or ours. There is no format you cannot leave with.
There is nothing to install on a desk that does not already run a browser. The server is Claris FileMaker Server — on your own hardware, in your cloud tenancy, or hosted and monitored by us.
Claris FileMaker Server provisioned, licensed and updated by us; the SSL certificate issued and renewed on your domain; scheduled backups with an off-site copy; monitoring and app releases as one monthly line.
The same platform on your hardware or your cloud tenancy, your certificate, your backup policy, your identity provider — with your IT in control.
Write with what you run today and who looks after it. We reply the same working day with the annex and two slots for a call.
